This week there is a new cider hitting the shelves. Granite Belt Cider Co. is the latest to launch a new cider. Treehouse Cider is their debut release. What makes Granite Belt Cider Co. unique is the fact that it uses Australia’s most northerly commercially grown apples. So How does that affect the Taste?
Appleman Primo is new to the Australian Cider market. You probably haven’t seen the Appleman in any of the major retailers. But this cider by a wine maker is very well-traveled. Conceived in Bondi, made and grown in Batlow, some have been spotted in trendy South East Asia. It is such a globetrotter it has a postcard on the label.
I’m pretty excited about this cider review. Not only is New England Cider Company one of the newest names in the Australian Cider industry they are also from my region of New South Wales. This makes their first cider, the Ice Breaker, as far as I can tell, the most northern cider in Australia.
It’s about time I looked at this Crushed Apple Cider from the Hillbilly folks in the mountains. While this isn’t the first cider i’ve reviewed from Hillbilly, it is their original cider. In fact this was one of the first craft ciders I found in Sydney as I moved away from the big labels into proper ciders. Oddly never got to write a review about it.
